When Diversity Wins, We All Win

The theme of Diversity Day 2026 is “When diversity wins, we all win.” “It captures the essence of Inclusive Excellence: academic excellence arises where diverse perspectives are systematically incorporated, fair participation is enabled, and barriers are broken down. Diversity is thus not only a matter of equal opportunity, but also of the quality of scholarship and the enrichment of our university community,” says Prof. Isolde Karle, Vice Rector for Diversity, Inclusion, and Talent Development at Ruhr University Bochum.
Diverse Program
Another benefit is the close collaboration between the two partner universities, Ruhr University Bochum and TU Dortmund. The latter has put together a varied program for Diversity Day that spans the entire month of May. Various events are also open to Bochum students and staff, who are expressly and warmly invited to participate.
