Science has changed the Ruhr region. Based on this spirit, we pioneer new models of collaboration at the Ruhr Innovation Lab, cultivating an environment that inspires out-of-the-box thinking for the benefit of societal progress. By breaking down disciplinary and geographical barriers, we harness the full potential of our collective strengths. Because real progress requires radically new ideas. To give just one example: By focusing on solvents in chemical reactions, our RESOLV Cluster of Excellence has established a new research discipline. Its impact has been big. So big that, for instance, UC Berkeley decided to set up a sister cluster to RESOLV.
