Joint Teaching Programs

Step into a world of innovative learning at the Ruhr Innovation Lab! Here, students learn to think and work independently and critically by diving into hands-on experiments, developing theories, and testing them early on—all within a dynamic academic community alongside our esteemed scientists. Our students enjoy access to far more than just the services of their home university. Ruhr University Bochum and TU Dortmund University have joined forces, integrating many of their services to create a seamless, cross-campus experience. This dynamic partnership enables students to tap into the expertise and facilities at both locations, fostering an unparalleled learning environment, empowering our students to explore grow, and excel.

Promoting an Ethical Use of AI in Teaching

The KI:edu.nrw project, led by Ruhr University Bochum, supports teachers and students in the reflective use of artificial intelligence. This knowledge can help, for example, to integrate artificial intelligence meaningfully and responsibly into studying and teaching in hybrid learning environments. TU Dortmund University offers such modern learning environments in the Hybrid Learning Center HyLeC, where students find an experimental space for online and offline learning scenarios. KI:edu.nrw and HyLeC combine teaching with research infrastructure and contribute to a state-wide ethical use of AI.

Empowering Future Educators: Committed to Teacher Training

TU Dortmund University and Ruhr University Bochum have integrated their teacher training programs taking responsibility for the education of future generations. Students benefit from the flexible options offered by the Splits Program (“Spagatstudium”): They can study at both universities at the same time, opening up nine additional subject combinations. The teacher training centers DoKoLL and PES collaborate on numerous projects to further develop their programs and provide future teachers with the skills needed for diverse classrooms.
